Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award

I have a fun announcement for all my amazing followers today!   As I was finalizing a few items for a draft post, I received a notification that The Lodge on Haydon had been nominated for a Sisterhood of the World Blogger’s Award!

I am so honored to have been nominated by two incredible bloggers, The Girl in Glasses and Isma Mazoni.  Both these ladies offer inspiration and motivation for all that’s good in life: fashion, art, health, beauty, and everything in between.  I would highly recommend that you check out all they have to offer and follow along with them.  A HUGE thank you to both The Girl in Glasses and Isma Mazoni for the nomination!

And in the spirit of gratitutude, I would also like to take this time to thank all of you who take the time out of your busy day to follow along with the adventures from The Lodge on Haydon.  Knowing there is even one person out there who reads along is great motivation to stretch my creative limits, and try to create recipes, projects, adventures, and blog posts worthy of your time.

SO THANK YOU!

Ok, Here’s how this works:

Where do you source your inspiration from?

My Inspiration comes from EVERYWHERE.  I constantly have my radar out for ideas.  I can find inspiration in the grocery store, a TV commercial, my friends, the sunset, or even in a conversation.  I like to use three things to help organize and turn all the beauty I see in every minute of every day into tangible inspiration.  I like to use daily mediation practice, a sketch book, and a journal.  Each of these methods allow thoughts and ideas to grow and evolve over time.

If a film was being made about your life, which actor/actress would you choose to play you?

Oh my gosh this is tough.  Kate Winslet.  For no other reason than I am a huge fan, she seems down to Earth and I like to think that she would “get me.” HA!

If you could give your younger self one piece of advice, what would it be?

Not to worry about what other people are thinking.

What is one of your favourite memories?

Making mud pies in the mountains at my cabin when I was a little girl, and feeding them to my pet hippo, which was a giant rock that looked like…. you guessed it! A HIPPO!

If you could only keep five possessions, what would they be?

Camera, cast iron skillet, my Sharpie collection, my glasses, my favorite champagne glass.

How would your friends describe you?

Creative, honest, caring, genuine, great cook.  (I hope)

What is your biggest dream?

To travel the world.

What are some of the things that make you happy in life (big or small)?

Being with family and friends, Marley, Maggie, Gunner and Sadie (my pets), cooking for my friends and family, travel, wine, cheese, chocolate, coffee, Pinterest, painting, reading, being inspired and inspiring others.

If you could choose to have one super power, what would it be and why?

Flying.  Please refer back to my dream of traveling the World.

If you have your music stored somewhere (E.G. iTunes, Spotify) then hit shuffle, what is the first song that it lands on?

I just tested this, and it landed on Ryan Adams “Answering Bell”  the next one was Dierks Bentley “Drunk on a Plane.”
